Minnesota Vikings Fantasy Start/Sit: Week 5 vs. New York Giants
By Zack Patraw
Vikings to start in Week 5:
Dalvin Cook – RB
We all knew it was going to be tough to run against the Bears last week. That defense is arguably the best in the league and wasn’t going to just let the Vikes waltz right in there and keep running the ball like they have all season. But this week, we can expect more of what has been from Dalvin Cook. He’s been one of the best running backs in the game this year and that should continue against an average Giants defense. They’re going to need to get Cook the ball more in space if they want to have a chance at winning this game.
Adam Thielen – WR
Speaking of giving the team a chance of winning, the Vikings are going to need to throw the ball much better this week. The hope is that Cousins has worked things out with his receivers after what was a drama-filled period between the end of Week 4 and the beginning of Week 5. Adam Thielen has been one of Cousins’ favorite targets since signing with the team last offseason, and if he wants to turn things around, he’s going to have to find Thielen. This may be the game they turn things around.
Giants to start in Week 5:
Golden Tate – WR
Golden Tate has seen his four-game suspension come to end this week and will see the field for the first time as a Giant. The savvy veteran will look to provide some much-needed experience to a very you team that may or may not be down their starting star running back Saquon Barkley. Look for Tate to provide that veteran presence and give rookie quarterback Daniel Jones a reliable target to throw to his first week back.
Evan Engram – TE
Evan Engram has been one of the best tight ends in the league through the first quarter of the year. We saw this during his rookie year what type of player he can be. Last year he fell off of the production train but this year he’s back to form. Engram’s been meshing very well with his rookie quarterback and you shouldn’t expect that to stop any time soon. The Vikings haven’t exactly been too good against opposing tight ends this year.
