No Barkley for the Giants
Prior to the 2019 season even beginning, Week 5 in New York seemed like it was going to be all about how the Vikings would try and stop Giants running back Saquon Barkley from having a monster game.
However, Barkley suffered a significant ankle injury in New York’s Week 3 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and he has already been declared out for Sunday’s matchup with Minnesota.
One should assume that the Vikings are going to have a much easier time with Wayne Gallman starting in the backfield instead of Barkley.
Gallman is coming off a nice performance last week that saw him accumulate 118 total yards and two touchdowns. However, his good game also came against a terrible Washington Redskins team.
The Redskins’ defense has given up the second-most points per contest in the NFL this season. Gallman will likely have a much tougher time on Sunday against a Minnesota defense that is allowing the sixth-fewest points per game this year.
