Zimmer’s defense gets to face a rookie quarterback

In two starts this season, Giants rookie quarterback Daniel Jones has looked pretty good. Jones has made some impressive throws and he’s even been able to utilize his mobility to make plays as well.

During his two starts, New York’s rookie signal-caller has completed 68.7 percent of his passes for 561 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. Jones has also gained 61 yards on the ground and rushed for two more scores.

However, the Giants’ rookie quarterback has had the luxury of going up against two teams in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Washington Redskins who both have pretty awful pass defenses. Minnesota has performed very well against the pass this season, so Jones has his work cut out for him this week.

Since 2017, the Vikings have come out with wins in five of their six matchups against rookie quarterbacks. Jones has played well so far this season, but it seems likely that he’s going to struggle to get much going when he has to face a tough Minnesota defense on Sunday.
