What do we now know about the Minnesota Vikings following their impressive performance on Sunday in their Week 5 matchup against the New York Giants?

No one really expected their Week 5 game against the New York Giants to be classified as “must-win”, but the Minnesota Vikings badly needed a victory on Sunday.

The handful of days prior to the matchup were filled with a ton of drama for the Vikings and some were wondering how that would affect their performance against the Giants. Turns out, none of the stuff that Minnesota dealt with off of the field leading up to their game in New York prevented them from leaving the stadium with a win.

Against the Giants on Sunday, the Vikings made sure to remind people how talented of a team they have this year. The Minnesota team that got a win this week looked like one that could compete with just about anyone in the NFL this season.

During their victory, the Vikings were able to find success in all three phases of the game. Minnesota head coach Mike Zimmer is still going to find some things that his team can work on for the future, but he should be pretty happy with how his guys performed on Sunday.

Is everything all rainbows and lollipops now after the Vikings got a win in Week 5? Not quite, but Minnesota didn’t play down to their competition and they were able to easily take care of business on Sunday against a team that they were expected to beat.
