Bailey has found his groove
It’s a little crazy to think that all of the drama the Vikings have been dealing with this season has absolutely nothing to do with their kicking game. Kickers have been the source of a lot of drama in Minnesota over the years, but this isn’t the case in 2019.
During the Vikings’ first four games this season, Dan Bailey had only lined up to attempt a total of four field goals. But on Sunday in New York, Bailey was able to match his season total and he converted all four of his field goal tries.
In addition to his made field goals, the Minnesota kicker also made both of his extra point attempts against the Giants. It was the first time Bailey finished with at least four made field goals in a single game since Week 16 of the 2017 season when he was a member of the Dallas Cowboys.
So in five weeks this year, the Vikings kicker has only missed one of his eight field goal attempts. For a franchise that has experienced way too many bad moments from their kickers in the recent past, Bailey’s start to the season is encouraging at the very least.
