Surprise, throwing to Diggs and Thielen is a great idea

Who would have thought that incorporating two of the NFL’s best wide receivers into your offense’s game plan would be a good strategy? Oh, maybe just about everyone with a set of working eyes and probably even a few blind people.

For the first time this season, the Vikings’ passing attack was a big part of their offense’s success on Sunday.

Minnesota made sure to get the ball in the hands of Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs this week and unsurprisingly, it produced very good results. Thielen had a monster game against the Giants, hauling in seven catches for 130 yards and two touchdowns while Diggs pitched in with three receptions for 44 yards.

Diggs still probably won’t be happy with getting as many targets as Bisi Johnson on Sunday, but he might have been more involved in the game plan if he didn’t decide to skip practice last week.

The good news is that the Vikings have seemed to finally remember how well their offense performs when they make sure to get their top two receivers involved. Hopefully, they will continue to do this for the remainder of the season.
