As impressive as their Week 5 win was, there are still plenty of areas the Minnesota Vikings need to clean up as they head into Week 6.

Against the New York Giants on Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings went into MetLife Stadium and got their first victory on the road of the 2019 season. The Vikings’ defense was aggressive, they applied good pressure on young Giants quarterback Daniel Jones, and they were also able to snuff out New York’s injury-riddled running game.

Offensively, Minnesota played their most balanced game of the season. Kirk Cousins was much more on point, utilizing the play-action pass and hitting Adam Thielen for some big gains. He also dumped it off to Dalvin Cook on screens who then turned those into some explosive plays.

Speaking of No. 33, he, once again, was a beast on the ground. Cook rushed for 132 yards and the Vikings’ offensive line did a nice job opening up lanes for him and their other two running backs, Alexander Mattison and Ameer Abdullah.

It was a complete team victory and Mike Zimmer and the rest of Minnesota’s coaching staff have to be proud of the effort.

That being said, a team can never rest on its laurels. The Vikings will look at their film against the Giants and see that there are things they can and still need to do better as they get ready for their next game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

What are three improvements Minnesota can make as they head into Week 6 of the 2019 NFL season?
