Fletcher Cox – DT

This is one of those situations where the need isn’t there for the Vikings, but you add the player because he is just that good.

Fletcher Cox is a beast who has the talent and the ability to take over a football game. If Minnesota was able to plug him in the interior of their already stacked defensive line, it just wouldn’t be fair.

Cox has been a beast since entering the NFL as he’s racked up 338 career tackles and 44.5 sacks. He’s extremely quick off the ball and is as strong as an ox.

Cox is also a very smart player who reads tendencies of the offensive lineman blocking him and the quarterback he is facing and makes adjustments on the fly. He is going to be a handful for rookie center Garrett Bradbury and the rest of the interior of the Vikings’ offensive line to handle.

Having Cox on the Vikings would be a huge boost to Minnesota’s defense. He’d be placed as that penetrating three-technique defensive tackle and he would be tasked with causing disruption on every single snap of the football.

With Linval Joseph next to him plus Danielle Hunter and Everson Griffen on the outside, Cox would rarely see a double team. He could flat out dominate all game long and the Vikings’ defense would become almost impossible to move the football against.
