Thielen will have another 100-yard game

If Cousins is going to have another strong game, there has to be a beneficiary. While I had initially thought that could be Stefon Diggs, the correct answer here could be Adam Thielen thanks to his more favorable matchup against Sidney Jones.

Jones has had his share of issues coming since coming into the league and a lot of that may have to do with beginning his professional career by rehabbing from a torn Achilles. While his overall numbers when being thrown at have been respectable, his last two games have been a struggle as opposing passers have posted a QB rating over 100 in both games.

His primary assignment will be stopping Thielen, who has been Cousins’ more consistent option this season. As Thielen has posted 2.27 yards per route run (13th in the NFL), that number could be even higher if the Vikings threw the ball with more volume. With the ability to get deep downfield, he could be able to exploit the back end of the Eagles secondary that also includes former Viking Andrew Sendejo.

Although Thielen missed practice due to illness on Thursday, he should also be ready to go and might even get an assist from Diggs while attacking the Eagles’ secondary.
