Linval Joseph – DT

Linval Joseph had a very memorable game the last time he faced the Eagles. He picked up a fumble and rumbled almost 65 yards to the end zone. The big man is still trying to catch his breath from that jaunt.

A repeat scoop and score is unlikely for the Big Goon, but the Vikings will need him at his run-stuffing best if they are going to get the “W” against Philadelphia.

Jordan Howard is now an Eagle and has been the team’s best rusher in recent weeks. Howard is also a known Viking-killer in his career. During his time with the Bears, Howard always seemed to have huge games against Minnesota. He is a strong and powerful runner and the team just couldn’t bring him to the turf.

Joseph is the best run-stuffer on the Vikings’ defense and he and his pal Shamar Stephen will have to make sure that there is no room for Howard and company to run on Sunday.

If they can shut him down, Philadelphia’s offense will become one dimensional. This will allow Minnesota’s pass rushers to pin back their ears. They can come after Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz on every snap, hit him, and cause him to throw the ball much sooner than he would like. This could lead to a turnover or two that could help the Vikings seal a victory.
