Kendricks is on another level this season

It shouldn’t be a surprise that the Vikings’ leading tackler since 2015 is playing well this season, but Eric Kendricks really seems to have taken a big step in his evolution as a player this year.

Every week, it feels like Kendricks comes up with a handful of plays that help Minnesota’s defense get off the field. This was no different on Sunday during the Vikings’ win over the Eagles.

During a play when Philadelphia quarterback Carson Wentz was rolling out to his left, Kendricks almost came up with an interception after making a great effort to tip Wentz’ pass attempt into the air.

The Minnesota linebacker was also able to pick up half a sack on Sunday after he and Mackensie Alexander brought Wentz to the ground on a key third-down play in the fourth quarter.

Later on in the fourth quarter, Kendricks came up with another big play when he helped force Eagles tight end Zach Ertz fumble the ball, which was then recovered by fellow Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr.

Kendricks has played well for Minnesota during his NFL career, but it just feels like he’s playing like one of the best linebackers in the league this year.
