Kirk Cousins – QB

What would a list of Vikings players to watch be without Kirk Cousins? His play is so instrumental to the Vikings chances of winning that he will likely end up on many more of these. Cousins has been hot lately. He followed up his solid performance in New York with his best game of the year at home against the Eagles.

Cousins was on fire and was taking shots down the field and connected on those twice with Stefon Diggs. He was accurate with the football and was hitting his receivers in stride and putting the ball where only they could catch it.

Cousins said he plays better when he’s got an edge to him and clearly he had that last week. Former Eagles linebacker Zach Brown was talking smack to Cousins early in the week and that got our nice guy quarterback very upset. He took it out on the Eagles secondary. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been any noise coming from the Lions camp but Cousins needs to build off this performance.

Kirk Cousins has had two really good games in a row after that poor showing in Chicago. While it is encouraging to see, it is too early to think Cousins and his issues are behind him. He is going to be on the road against a quality opponent and his record for his career in that situation is still dismal. If Cousins can play the way he has the last couple of weeks and make it three in a row, the negative talk about his record against quality opponents could begin to subside.
