When the Minnesota Vikings head out on the road for a Week 7 matchup with the Detroit Lions, which players should you be starting on your fantasy football team?

During the last two weeks, the Minnesota Vikings have clicked really well. Over this span, the Vikings top four guys, Kirk Cousins, Stefon Diggs, Dalvin Cook, and Adam Thielen, have all had over 50 fantasy points, which (besides Cook) is over half of their season total in points.

Clearly, there have been some adjustments made on the offensive side of the ball since Diggs and Thielen made their frustrations known after Minnesota’s loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 4.

The Vikings switched up their game plan a bit last Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles and executed it nicely. Minnesota has had a lot of success on zone runs and bootlegs this year, but against the Eagles, the Vikings used those tendencies against them.

Minnesota hit Philadelphia on a few misdirections that went for positive plays and they also demolished the Eagles’ secondary with bootlegs. More adjustments will need to be made this week as the Vikings take on a division foe and a better defense in the Detroit Lions.

The Lions’ cornerbacks have played well this season. They play a lot of man-to-man coverage and they have the talent to match up with guys like Diggs and Thielen.

Where Detroit’s defense has struggled this year is with their ability to stop the run. It’s a bit of a surprise they haven’t been better since they have guys like Trey Flowers, A’Shawn Robinson, and Snacks Harrison on their defensive line.

If the Vikings want to have a positive game script, they’re going to need to get their rushing attack going and also have a steady passing game.

Let’s dive in and see which players from both Minnesota and Detroit you should start on your fantasy team this week.
