Minnesota Vikings MVPs: Week 7 vs. Detroit Lions
By Adam Carlson
Defensive MVP – Eric Kendricks
A lot of credit has been given to the offense lately, but Eric Kendricks has been absolutely amazing this season. He continues to get better with each passing season, and his performance in Week 7 put that on display.
Kendricks led the team in tackles, bringing down a dozen ball carriers with half of those stops being solo and one being behind the line of scrimmage. He’s a tackling machine and has become a regular on the top of that stat list for the team.
His coverage was solid in this game as well. As a team, Minnesota only had six pass defenses and two of those came from Kendricks. Being able to drop him into coverage, be in run support, or rush the passer makes his value sky-high.
With the secondary struggling as badly as they did in this game, having the linebackers and defensive ends step up were instrumental in this win. Plus, with those efforts and an offense that can put up a lot of points, Minnesota will be able to overcome a lot of situations this season.
Who do you think were the MVPs from the Minnesota Vikings Week 7 game against the Detroit Lions? Do you agree that they were Kirk Cousins and Eric Kendricks or would you have chosen someone else? Let us know in the comments!
