How much time is Adam Thielen expected to miss?

After going down with an injury on Sunday in Detroit, how long is the Minnesota Vikings talented wide receiver expected to be out of action?
After the Detroit Lions were able to go up 7-0 early on Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings responded on the very next drive with a touchdown of their own thanks to Kirk Cousins and Adam Thielen.
Thielen made a great effort to haul in Cousins’ pass in the back of the end zone and put some points on the board for the Vikings. Typically, the Minnesota receiver likes to celebrate after scoring a touchdown, but Thielen remained on the ground after making this catch.
He eventually had to be helped off the field by the Vikings training staff and it was later revealed that he sustained a hamstring injury on the play that resulted in a touchdown. Thielen still remained in his pads on the sideline after his injury, but he didn’t get another snap on offense for the rest of the game.
Following Minnesota’s win on Sunday, it was reported that the veteran receiver was actually close to getting back into the matchup against the Lions and he told reporters that he was optimistic about playing in the Vikings’ Week 8 game on Thursday.
Despite his optimism, Thielen is not expected to suit up for Minnesota when they take on the Washington Redskins on Thursday night according to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero on Monday. Peliserro also added that the injury isn’t expected to keep the Vikings receiver out of action for very long.
Based on the fact that Thielen could have potentially re-entered the game in Detroit on Sunday, him returning to the field for Minnesota’s Week 9 matchup on November 3 against the Kansas City Chiefs seems pretty likely.
The Vikings must still be cautious with their receiver’s injury though. If Thielen returns too soon, he could end up re-injuring his hamstring and needing to miss even more time just as Dalvin Cook did last season when he was dealing with a similar injury.
Minnesota proved on Sunday that their offense can still be productive without Thielen out on the field. But obviously the Vikings would rather have one of the best receivers in the NFL back and helping them make their push to the playoffs.
