Bisi Johnson – WR

It doesn’t look like Adam Thielen is going to play this week after injuring his hamstring in the Lions game. The Vikings really shouldn’t rush him back. The Redskins are a team the Vikings should be able to beat handily even without Thielen on the field. While it rubs to not have Thielen in the lineup, it gives an opportunity for young Bisi Johnson to step up.

Bisi Johnson is a great story for the Vikings. He is a late seventh-round pick who slowly got better every day in camp. He emerged in preseason games showing savvy route running and sure hands. He earned a spot on the 53-man roster, and after Chad Beebe went down with an injury, he began to see some action.

Johnson has made the most of the opportunity. He has caught every ball thrown his way that was possible to catch. Kirk Cousins trusts him and even threw him his first touchdown against the Lions last Sunday. The Vikings offense didn’t miss a beat after Thielen went down, and that says a lot about the talent of this young pass catcher.

Chances are high that Bisi gets his first start this Thursday night and there is no reason to believe he won’t step up again and make the most of this opportunity.
