Vikings setting themselves up nicely for the rest of the year

Four weeks ago, the confidence level in the Vikings for some people was not very high. Minnesota was just coming off a disappointing loss to the Chicago Bears and some of their bad habits from 2018 seemed to be creeping into this season as well.

Since then, however, the Vikings have put together four wins in a row and they are now sitting with a 6-2 record. With only two losses after their first eight games, Minnesota is in a good position to earn a spot in this year’s playoffs and they’re also staying in contention for the NFC North title.

With their remaining games looking to be a little tougher, the Vikings needed to come out of the first half of their schedule with at least five or six wins to give themselves a legitimate shot at making it back into the postseason.

The last three times Minnesota had at least six victories after their first eight games (2017, 2015, 2009), they qualified for the playoffs and won the NFC North. With the way they’re currently playing, the Vikings are on track to accomplish both of these things and maybe even more this time around.
