Dalvin Cook – RB

Dalvin Cook is without a doubt the Vikings MVP at the halfway point of the season and he is the clear favorite to win this title at the end of the year. He’s been electric this season and he is exceeding any expectations that were set for him when the year began.

Cook was essentially Minnesota’s entire offense early in the season. The team handed him the ball over and over again and he produced over and over again.

He is a threat to score every time he touches the football and he can also grind out the tough yards up the middle. He has caught his fair share of screens and he gives that added element to the Vikings’ backfield.

Cook’s numbers through eight games are extremely impressive. He has 823 rushing yards, nine rushing touchdowns, and he has caught 29 passes for 293 yards. Surprisingly, he has yet to score a touchdown through the air this year.

The runs Cook has made and continues to make this season are unbelievable. At one moment it appears he’s bottled up and going to take a loss and then he spins, cuts, and before you know it he has a 10-yard gain and a first down. His blend of power, lateral agility, quickness, and top-end speed is extremely rare.

The only thing that will stop Cook this year is an injury and let’s all hold our purple hands together and pray that doesn’t happen because the season this guy is having is rare and quite a sight to behold.
