After their tough win over the Washington Redskins last Thursday, what are three areas the Minnesota Vikings must improve as they head into Week 9?

Last Thursday, the Minnesota Vikings surprisingly found themselves in a bit of a meat grinder type of game against the Washington Redskins.

The Vikings seemed very content with a conservative, run-heavy approach on offense. They only mustered 19 points against the Redskins’ defense, but Minnesota made plays when they had to and were thankful it was a night where Dan Bailey was locked in.

Defensively, the Vikings struggled early. Minnesota’s defensive line was having some trouble getting to Case Keenum and he was able to make some plays down the field, specifically against Xavier Rhodes. Washington running back Adrian Peterson was motivated to have a good game against his former team as he had a few highlight-worthy runs and proved he is truly a phenom who defies age.

The important thing was that the Vikings walked away with a victory in a primetime game. Still, there are plenty of areas Minnesota can look to improve after their win over the Redskins.

The Vikings have a much tougher task in Week 9 when they travel to take on the Kansas City Chiefs and here are three things they will need to improve if they want to get a win at Arrowhead.
