Tee Higgins – WR (Clemson)

Tee Higgins has been a stud at Clemson for what feels like forever. He showed a lot of flashes during his freshman year, then really had a solid sophomore season in 2018. He had nearly 1,000 yards receiving as he caught 59 passes and 12 touchdowns. With the offensive weapons at Clemson, putting up that kind of production is huge.

Currently in the middle of his junior campaign, Higgins has produced very nicely for Clemson this season. He hasn’t had many touchdowns, just two on the year, but he currently has 588 yards on 27 catches through eight games.

Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence has had a bit of a down season when you look at the success he had his freshman year, so for Higgins to still put up this kind of production is exciting to see.

Higgins was once considered one of the top tier receivers in the 2020 draft class. With the emergence of other receivers though, he has appeared to have slipped slightly, which would make him a treat for the Vikings.

Minnesota is missing that big-bodied type of receiver that can out-physical defensive backs and be a contested-catch monster and Higgins gives you that. He’s also very athletic and has really good speed.

He’s a YAC machine when he gets the ball in his hands. For a taller receiver, he does a good job dropping his hips and exploding out of his breaks. Higgins isn’t just a physical receiver, he also has some finesse to his game. He has some crafty footwork at the line of scrimmage and he defeats press coverage very well.

The Vikings have always been in need of a quality receiver outside of Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs. Minnesota may have something with Bisi Johnson, but Higgins has much more upside. He’ll provide the stability in the No. 3 receiver role and also be a good replacement option if an injury occurs to either Diggs or Thielen.
