Linval Joseph – DT

Linval Joseph is easily one of the scariest players on the 2019 Minnesota Vikings. Even his nickname “The Big Goon” sounds like it could be a classic Halloween monster. He lives up to that name too. How frightening Linval Joseph must be to every opposing lineman he faces.

Physically this guy is horrifying. He’s 6-foot-4 and 329 pounds, with wide shoulders and a big protruding gut that sways side to side like it is almost alive itself, and ready to bust out of the lower half of his jersey.

With the brace on his right arm and occasional black visor, he resembles some sort of Terminator or cyborg. Occasionally his long black locks flow out of the back of his helmet making him even more intimidating.

What makes the Big Goon scariest is the way he plays. He moves extremely well for a big man and can eat up multiple blockers at once. Speaking of eating, there is nothing he enjoys more than swallowing up running backs and shutting down opposing teams’ running games.

It’s clear running backs are his favorite Halloween candy. He occasionally gets into the backfield, and when this happens the shrieks of quarterbacks can be heard even in the uppermost seats of U.S. Bank Stadium.
