Whop Philyor – WR (Indiana)

vs. Northwestern

  • When: Saturday, November 2 at 7:00 p.m. ET
  • Where: Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, IN
  • TV: FS1

The Indiana Hoosiers are 6-2 and bowl eligible, something that doesn’t happen very often. Wide receiver Whop Philyor is a huge reason for their incredible start. Last Saturday at Nebraska, Philyor caught 14 passes for 178 yards. He posted another 14-reception game back in September against Michigan State when he had 14 grabs for 142 yards and two scores. He is tied for sixth in the nation with 57 catches and is 14th in yards with 737.

Whop Philyor is a dynamic player out of the slot. His ability to make defenders miss in space and pick up extra yardage is outstanding. He has incredible hands that allow him to make plays when it does not seem possible. Philyor is carrying an Indiana offense that gave Michigan State a run for its money a month ago.

This is a loaded draft class at wide receiver, so Philyor will be a bit of an under-the-radar talent if he decides to come out. He has eligibility beyond 2019, so I would not be too surprised to see him return to Indiana for his final season and continue to boost his draft stock.

Prediction

Northwestern may be 1-6 but they have a tough defense. Their pass defense ranks 14th in the country, so Indiana will have to find ways to exploit that and move the ball. Philyor will once again need to be the primary target and haul in a handful of grabs. I think he will continue his dominance and surpass 100 yards for the fourth time in five weeks as Indiana stays hot.
