Harrison Smith – S

Harrison Smith is having a solid season. He’s racked up 45 tackles with one interception and a forced fumble. He’s had a handful of near-misses when it comes to interceptions or picking up a loose ball and maybe that’s why it feels like he’s been quiet this year.

Smith just isn’t making the big plays the way he has in the past. He has dropped some potential interceptions and instead of pouncing on a ball when it was bouncing around, he opted to try to scoop it and it didn’t work out in his favor. He also doesn’t have a sack on the season at the midway point and that in itself is quite peculiar.

The Vikings are going to need a turnover or two to win this game on the road. Smith will be key in making that happen and is due for one. Whether it’s Pat Mahomes or Matt Moore playing quarterback, the Chiefs love to take shots down the field. There could be balls up for grabs this Sunday, and Smith will have his chances to come down with one.

The Vikings may also need the Hitman to help the struggling corners. Xavier Rhodes can’t cover anyone right now and if Tyreek Hill gets lined up across from him, Smith needs to be ready to roll that way and give Rhodes some help. If the Vikings are going to beat the Chiefs they’ll need the real Hitman to show up and take over this game.
