The Minnesota Vikings have rattled off four straight wins and are hoping to make it five when they to up against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 9 of the 2019 NFL season.

Behind in the race for the NFC North crown, the Minnesota Vikings are doing everything they can to keep pace with the Green Bay Packers. After opening the season 2-2, the purple and gold won four straight games in October to stay one game behind the green and gold.

If Minnesota wants to try to keep up with Green Bay, they will need to keep winning. Their upcoming game against the Chiefs will be a true test since Kansas City has several dynamic playmakers and a lot of speed on offense.

However, last year’s MVP may or may not be suiting up and others have a chance of not playing on Sunday. Here is the official injury report as shared on the team’s official website:

Minnesota Vikings

RULED OUT

  • – none –

DOUBTFUL

  • – none –

QUESTIONABLE

  • Adam Thielen, wide receiver – hamstring

Only three total names were on Minnesota’s injury report and a single individual has their status in question for Sunday. Sadly, that one individual is one of the biggest game-changers on the team’s roster: Adam Thielen.

Thielen will likely be good to go for Week 9. His injury on an acrobatic touchdown catch forced him to miss the first game of his career last week and it would be surprising to see him miss another considering his toughness and the nearly two weeks of recovery he got.

Expect the Vikings to be as close to full strength as possible on Sunday.

Kansas City Chiefs

RULED OUT

  • Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, guard – ankle
  • Eric Fisher. offensive tackle – groin
  • Alex Okafor, defensive end – ankle

DOUBTFUL

  • – none –

QUESTIONABLE

  • Frank Clark, defensive end – neck
  • Kendall Fuller, cornerback – thumb
  • Patrick Mahomes, quarterback – knee
  • Chris Jones, defensive tackle – groin

Seven players either out or questionable for Week 9 isn’t a good sign for Kansas City, especially when two of them are starters on the offensive line. Being without Fisher and Duvernay-Tardif is going to hurt, especially if they play Mahomes against the Minnesota pass rush.

Meanwhile, there is good news for Dalvin Cook and his offensive line with three of the four starters on the defensive line either out or questionable. Even with the Vikings offense clicking lately, it will help to not have pass rushers and defensive linemen at full strength.

Arrowhead Stadium will be rockin’ when these two teams compete on Sunday. Hopefully, the Minnesota Vikings can get the win in Week 9 and stay in the playoff picture moving forward.
