Dan Bailey – K

It’s hard to say a kicker has been one of the best players on a roster when they typically only step on the field two or three times a game. But Dan Bailey has been performing too well this season in a Vikings uniform to not include him on this list.

Through eight weeks, Bailey has nailed 12 of his 14 field goal attempts and 23 of his 24 extra point tries. He’s converted both of his 50-yard field goal attempts and he’s already had two games this season in which he made a total of four field goals.

After Bailey only made 75 percent of his field goal tries in 2018, some questioned the decision Minnesota made to re-sign him this year. The Vikings’ even revealed their confidence in him this summer when they traded for Kaare Vedvik in August.

But Bailey was able to beat out Vedvik for the job and he’s proven why he came out top with his performance so far this season.

Minnesota hasn’t had the best of luck with kickers during their history and especially since Mike Zimmer became the team’s head coach in 2014. With Bailey, the Vikings might have finally found a kicker they can trust (but just go find some wood to knock on just in case).
