Thielen is expected to return

It’s been a whole seven quarters since Adam Thielen was last on the field or the Vikings. Thielen injured his hamstring on a touchdown catch during Minnesota’s win over the Detroit Lions in Week 7 and he hasn’t played since.

After giving his injury some extra time to heal over the last two weeks, the Vikings receiver is expected to suit up for the team against the Chiefs on Sunday according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

That’s huge news for Minnesota’s offense, which looked a little lost without Thielen during their win over the Washington Redskins last week (especially in the red zone).

With his return, Kansas City’s defense won’t be able to put as much attention on some of the Vikings’ other top performers like Stefon Diggs and Dalvin Cook. Even if Thielen doesn’t end up with much on the stat sheet, his presence on the field alone should open up a lot of things for Minnesota’s offense on Sunday.
