A loss hurts, but it could have been worse

With the amount of talent that is in the NFC this season, another loss on the Vikings’ record is going to make qualifying for the playoffs that much harder. However, Minnesota got some help on Sunday that should keep their chances of a postseason berth pretty high.

In addition to the Vikings losing to the Chiefs, the other three teams in the NFC North also suffered losses in their matchups on Sunday.

The Chicago Bears fell to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Detroit Lions came up just short against the Oakland Raiders, and the Green Bay Packers were upset by the Los Angeles Chargers.

With the Packers’ loss, Minnesota is still just one game out of first place in the division and in good shape to challenge for the NFC North title. The impact of the Vikings’ loss on Sunday wasn’t as tremendous as it would have been if Green Bay was able to add another victory to their record.
