Pros of signing Dez Bryant

Experience

After he was selected by the Cowboys in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft, Dez Bryant went on to spend a total of eight years in a Dallas uniform. During Bryant’s tenure with the Cowboys, he appeared in 113 regular season games (99 starts) and three playoff matchups.

Talent

Once he entered the league, it didn’t take him very long to turn into one of the game’s most productive wide receivers. After three seasons, Bryant had already made a total of 27 trips to the end zone.

From 2012 to 2014, he caught at least 88 passes for 1,200 yards and 12 touchdowns in each season. Due to his production, Bryant ended up earning three Pro Bowl invites and one First-Team All-Pro selection.

Depth

Minnesota’s wide receiver depth was already a question mark before Adam Thielen went down with a hamstring injury. But with Thielen now out, the Vikings could use some more receiving help.

Currently, Minnesota’s top option is Stefon Diggs and behind him are guys like rookie Bisi Johnson, Laquon Treadwell, Davion Davis, and Josh Doctson. Not exactly a group that is going to keep any of the Vikings’ opponents up at night.

Adding Bryant to their roster could give Minnesota a more reliable No. 2 receiving option until Thielen is ready to return. And then once that happens, the veteran would be a great compliment to the Vikings’ talented receiving duo as the team’s third receiver for the rest of the season.
