Minnesota Vikings Fantasy Start/Sit: Week 10 vs. Dallas Cowboys
By Zack Patraw
When the Minnesota Vikings take on the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night, which players should you be starting on your fantasy team?
During a last-second loss to the Kansas City Chiefs last week, there were a lot of incidents in that game that one can look back on that would’ve potentially changed the outcome for the Minnesota Vikings.
Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins missed Stefon Diggs on numerous deep routes, he also had a hard time finding receivers downfield, and he had a hard time even completing a swing route. Minnesota’s offense had a hard time getting Dalvin Cook going as well. The bootleg rollouts that usually work so well were getting swallowed up.
The Vikings secondary had a difficult time covering speedy Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill. Many mistakes on one big play from Damian Williams was a huge difference in the game. There were a lot of mistakes that led to Minnesota’s loss, but this week will be a chance for them to get back on track.
The Vikings are heading to Dallas this week to take on the Cowboys for a primetime Sunday Night Football matchup. For Minnesota fans, the hope is that the team gets the October version of Cousins and not the primetime version of him. The Cowboys have a very good defensive front and really good linebackers, so Cousins is going to have to find a way to keep the bootleg game working.
Cook will have to step up much more than he did last week as well. He lacked efficiency and struggled to find open lanes. This week doesn’t get any easier for him as he’ll be taking on a Dallas defensive line that features Demarcus Lawrence on the edge.
Minnesota’s offensive line is going to have to be able to find ways to get leverage on the Cowboys’ tough defensive linemen and work their way up to the second level to take their linebackers out of the play.
Dallas’ offense has been a tough one to stop for the majority of this year. Quarterback Dak Prescott has played at a high level and his favorite target, Amari Cooper, has been looking like one of the best receivers in the game. He runs some of the best routes in football, so keeping up with him is going to be a challenge. Not only that, trying to contain Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott won’t be an easy task either as he’s one of the NFL’s elite rushers.
This week’s game should make for a fun back-and-forth style game in primetime. But from a fantasy point of view, let’s take a look at which Vikings and Cowboys players you should starting and sitting.
