Vikings prove they are a contender in the NFC

Last week’s loss in Kansas City put a bitter taste in the Vikings’ mouths and barbecue sauce had nothing to do with it. Minnesota had a number of chances to get a win last Sunday, but they just couldn’t pull it out in the end.

The loss brought the Vikings’ doubters back out of the shadows and questions arose about the team’s chances to contend for a championship this season.

But after their big win over the Cowboys on Sunday night, Minnesota certainly deserves to be considered a top contender in the NFC this year. The Vikings proved a lot by getting a victory on the road over a tough Dallas team.

Prior to Sunday’s win, some felt like Minnesota had just been able to take advantage of having matchups against pretty terrible competition this season and that’s how they were got their record to 6-3 after their first nine games. But their victory over the Cowboys proves that the Vikings are actually just a good team.

When their backs were against the wall and the confidence level about their chances on Sunday was low, Minnesota showed the rest of the NFL what they were fully capable of. The scariest thing of all for every other team in the league is that the Vikings probably haven’t even played their best football yet this year.
