Mike Daniels – DT

For a handful of years, Mike Daniels used to cause a bunch of problems for the Vikings’ offensive line when he was a member of the Green Bay Packers.

This season, Daniels is with the Detroit Lions and he’s only been able to appear in four games thanks to a foot injury. He was able to suit up for the Lions in Week 10 against the Chicago Bears and he even finished the matchup with his first sack of the season.

Current Minnesota defensive tackle Linval Joseph has a cap hit of almost $13 million in 2020 and there’s a possibility that the team could decide to let him go during the upcoming offseason to create some much-needed cap space. If the Vikings do indeed end up cutting Joseph next year, Daniels would be a solid candidate to consider bringing in as his replacement.

The current Detroit defensive lineman has a ton of experience playing in the NFC North and he has the versatility to line up as either a three-technique or a nose tackle for a defense. Plus, Daniels will likely be a much cheaper option for Minnesota than Joseph and the drop in play may not even be that significant.
