Brandon Scherff – OG

When the Vikings switched Pat Elfien over from center to left guard before the start of the season, the thought was that there wouldn’t be many speed bumps in his position switch. However, Elflein’s transition to guard hasn’t gone as smoothly this year as Minnesota would have hoped.

The Vikings’ current left guard has given up a ton of pressure in pass protection this season and it likely has the team pondering his future as a starter past 2019.

If Minnesota is looking to bolster the interior of their offensive line during the upcoming offseason, Brandon Scherff would be a great addition to the unit.

Currently in his fifth year with the Washington Redskins, Scherff is likely going to be one of the top free agents on the market in 2020. But with two Pro Bowl trips in his first four seasons, he’s already proven that he will probably be worth whatever money he’s offered next year.

Scherff has started at right guard during his entire tenure with the Redskins, so if the Vikings were able to sign him, they would likely have to shift Josh Kline over to the left side of the line for next season. Kline has lined up as a left guard during his NFL career, so hopefully it would be a switch that would go much smoother than what Minnesota is currently witnessing with Elflein.
