NFL picks Dalvin Cook as the NFC’s top offensive player from Week 10

After an impressive performance against the Dallas Cowboys, the Minnesota Vikings running back has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week.
If there was one thing that the national audience came away with following the Minnesota Vikings coming out with a win over the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday, it likely had to do with the great night had by Dalvin Cook.
Cook played a huge part in the Vikings being able to walk off the field in Dallas with a victory over the Cowboys. All night long he was slipping out of the grasp of numerous Dallas defenders and making his job as an NFL running back look quite easy.
Once the final whistle blew, Cook had accumulated a total of 183 yards (97 rushing, 86 receiving) and one touchdown on 33 touches. The Cowboys defense had no answer for the talented running back and it ultimately led to Minnesota getting the win.
Thanks to his impressive game in Dallas, the NFL announced on Wednesday that Cook has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week. It’s the second time in his career that he’s been given the honor and he joins kicker Dan Bailey as the only members of the Vikings’ roster to win at least one Player of the Week award this season.
With the way Cook has been playing so far this year, he could be in line for some even bigger awards too. If Minnesota continues to have success this season and their top running back is a large reason why, he will likely receive some league MVP consideration and potentially even be selected for the honor.
Through 10 games this year, Cook has gained over 1,415 total yards (991 rushing, 424 receiving) and scored 10 touchdowns. His numbers so far have put him elite company as he is now one of just four players in NFL history to gain at least 950 rushing yards, 400 receiving yards, and score at least 10 touchdowns in the first 10 games of a season.
With six matchups left on the Vikings’ schedule, Cook still has plenty of time to not only shatter some of his own team’s all-time records, but some of the league’s records as well.
