The Minnesota Vikings are beyond the midpoint of the 2019 NFL season, so it seems like the perfect time to do a three-round 2020 mock draft.

Currently at 7-3 and coming off a huge road win against the Dallas Cowboys in primetime, the Minnesota Vikings are now in the middle of the second half of their 2019 season.

The Vikings are a team that is solid on both sides of the football. Their offense has been explosive at times and their offensive line is much improved from what it was a season ago. Defensively, they’ve been stout. They have been able to get persistent pressure on opposing quarterbacks and have played pretty well in all three phases of the defense, with the occasional hiccup in the secondary.

That being said, Minnesota still has plenty of issues that can, and will, be addressed in the 2020 NFL Draft. They are likely going to have depth issues when it comes to their corners this offseason with key players entering free agency. They could also use another interior defensive lineman and more depth at linebacker and safety.

On offense, the Vikings could potentially look for their quarterback of the future in next year’s draft. They also need to find their eventual replacement for Riley Reiff at left tackle. Pat Elflein has also been a sore spot at left guard and could the Vikings could look for an immediate upgrade at that spot in the draft as well. The Purple also need to bolster their receiving corps with a fairly early pick.

Obviously many things will change between now and next April when the draft goes down. Prospects will move up and down the board, as will the team’s needs following the beginning of free agency.

Based on their record after the first 10 weeks of the season, Minnesota’s first pick in 2020 will come at slot No. 23 in the first round. Let’s go ahead and see who the Vikings might add in the first three rounds of next year’s draft.
