Possible Pro Bowl Vikings

Those four players already named should be considered Pro Bowl players already, but there are some other players who have a good chance of being in Orlando one week before the Super Bowl. Here are a few of those who may need to make their case a little more or will fall a little short:

Kirk Cousins, quarterback

Let’s be honest, Kirk Cousins should make the Pro Bowl. Piling up 2,437 passing yards with 18 touchdowns and only 3 interceptions in 10 games should make him a shoo-in. However, the early season disappointing performances will likely balance out his great play as of late. Only three quarterbacks from the NFC will make it, and two of those are bound to be Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers, leaving the rest fighting for that third spot. It should be his…but that’s not enough to consider him a lock.

Everson Griffen, defensive end

If not for Danielle Hunter being a lock, Griffen would have a higher chance of making the Pro Bowl. Only three NFC defensive ends will make it and it would be really cool if both wore purple and gold, but that will be tough to accomplish with guys like Cameron Jordan, Nick Bosa, and Brandon Graham in the competition.

Adam Thielen, wide receiver

The good news is that Adam Thielen has six touchdowns in his eight games played. The bad news is that he’s bound to miss another week in Week 11, then have his bye week. That means his stats won’t accumulate and he won’t get media love. 391 yards will likely not be enough to get him there, which is disappointing because Vikings fans know just how good he really is.

Stefon Diggs, wide receiver

His stat line of 759 yards is pretty solid, but only hauling in four touchdowns through 10 weeks is going to make getting him in the Pro Bowl difficult. Seven wide receivers in the NFC have more receiving yardage than him and 12 have more touchdowns. It would take a couple of explosive games to get his name in the mix, but there is hope that Stefon Diggs can get some help from those who remember the Minneapolis Miracle fondly.
