Vikings will get another win at home

The past couple of weeks have raised questions about Mike Zimmer’s defense, but if there’s one thing that remains true, they turn it up when they play at home. Zimmer’s unit has allowed just 13.75 points per game at home compared to 21.1 on the road, which has played a key part in Minnesota’s undefeated (4-0) record inside U.S. Bank Stadium this season.

Although just one of their previous opponents (the 5-4 Philadelphia Eagles) currently owns a record over .500, the Vikings have done their job in front of their home fans by beating the teams they are supposed to beat.

The Broncos are a messy team to figure out, but the truth is this is another opponent Minnesota should beat. If the Vikings are able to establish the run and get out to an early lead, its defense will suffocate Denver even with four starters sitting out for an extended bye week.

A win over the Broncos would do big things in the NFC playoff picture where the Vikings could extend their grasp on the sixth seed and keep pace with the Green Bay Packers for a shot at the division title down the stretch.

With a majority of their games being played at home from here on out, Minnesota has an excellent chance of setting the tone for the rest of 2019 with a win over Denver on Sunday.
