Armon Watts – DT

Armon Watts finally got the chance to play in a game last Sunday. Linval Joseph was out as he recovered from knee surgery, so the rookie got to see some action and he made the most of it.

Watts registered three tackles and half a sack in spot duty. It was an impressive debut for the young tackle, but not an unexpected one.

Watts had a really good preseason for the Vikings. He had five tackles, a half a sack, and he just seemed to make a play whenever he got the chance. Many thought he would’ve been utilized earlier in the season, but the coaching staff apparently didn’t think he was ready.

There’s a chance Watts could see even more action this Sunday against the Broncos and potentially even get a start. Joseph is still recovering from the procedure on his knee and Shamar Stephen has missed some practice time this week. It would be a huge challenge for the rookie to start against Denver, but also a great opportunity.

Watts could see his snap count triple this Sunday. With his ability to create interior pressure as well as stuff the run, he has the chance to have a big game and keep himself on the active 53-man roster the remainder of the season.
