Opponents struggle to cash in at the Bank

Since it opened in 2016, the bird-erasing U.S. Bank Stadium has turned into one of the toughest places to play in the entire NFL.

In the 29 games that have taken place inside the stadium since 2016, Minnesota has come out with a win in 22 of them. Since Kirk Cousins took over as the team’s starting quarterback last season, the Vikings are also 7-1 in their eight home matchups that have kicked off at 1 p.m. ET.

In comes the Broncos this week, who have just one victory in their last 10 early-afternoon games on the road. It’s a trend that likely won’t be changing for Denver on Sunday when they step inside U.S. Bank Stadium for the first time ever.

Minnesota has been able to win each of their four home contests this season by an average of 16 points. Judging by who their opponent is this week, the Vikings adding another double-digit victory to their 2019 total seems likely.
