Denver’s underwhelming offense

During this past offseason, the Broncos thought they were improving their offense when they made a trade with the Baltimore Ravens to acquire quarterback Joe Flacco.

Denver’s investment in the veteran passer hasn’t exactly gone as planned, especially since Flacco is currently on injured reserve with a neck injury. But even when Flacco was on the field, the Broncos’ offense was still one of the worst in the NFL.

Heading into their matchup with the Vikings on Sunday, Denver currently ranks 28th in the league in scoring, 27th in total yards, 28th in passing yards, 31st in passing touchdowns. 30th in 3rd down conversion percentage, and 27th in red zone touchdown percentage.

The Broncos are also one of only two teams who have not scored more than 24 points in a single game this year. The abysmal 0-9 Cincinnati Bengals have also failed to put up more than 24 points in a matchup this season.

So with an inexperienced quarterback in Brandon Allen starting under center on Sunday, Denver’s struggling offense gets to go up against a Minnesota defense that is giving up just 13.8 points to their opponents at home this year.

Good luck with that.
