Offensive MVP – Kirk Cousins, quarterback

This game was not kind to Kirk Cousins. The offensive line struggled to protect Minnesota’s quarterback, as he was sacked five times on the day for a loss of 35 yards and the pressure even resulted in a fumble.

Halfway through the game adjustments were made by the Vikings offense. The team found more success rolling Cousins out and using play-action despite the running game not being able to find their footing (bad pun intended).

Cousins ended the day with 29 completions on 35 pass attempts for 319 yards and three touchdowns. Considering he was nearly blanked in the first half, ending with those kinds of numbers is very impressive.

Considering that no matter who was chosen as the offensive MVP from this game, their production would likely have come primarily in the second half, Kirk Cousins seemed like the right choice, but Stefon Diggs is right up there with him this week.
