During an interview with NFL Media’s Deion Sanders, Minnesota Vikings receiver Stefon Diggs shared a version of what his head coach said to the team at the half on Sunday.

After the first two quarters of their Week 11 matchup against the Denver Broncos on Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings were already in a 20-0 hole. The Vikings appeared to be heading towards a loss, but head coach Mike Zimmer wasn’t going to let his team give up so easily.

Zimmer has never been one to hide his emotions and many assumed that Minnesota’s players would be getting an earful from their head coach after their awful first-half performance.

We’ll probably never know exactly what Zimmer said to his guys inside the locker room at the half (one can assume it included a lot of four-letter words that rhyme with truck). But during an interview with NFL Media’s Deion Sanders on Sunday, Vikings receiver Stefon Diggs shared a PG version of what his head coach told everyone.

"“So it started with an ‘everybody come up,’ first off. He called everybody up. Then, ‘get your A double-S in gear right now. We can’t do nothing about the first half. Right now we need to worry about right now and chip away,’ and he was right.”"

It likely featured language that was a lot more colorful, but Zimmer keeping his message short and to the point was clearly enough to motivate Minnesota during the second half.

The Vikings went on to outscore the Broncos 27-3 in the final two quarters of Sunday’s contest and it resulted in Minnesota walking off the field with their sixth win in the last seven weeks.

Before their victory over Denver, the biggest halftime deficit the Vikings have ever been able to overcome with Zimmer as their head coach was 10 points back in Week 1 of the 2016 season.

Minnesota and their head coach would obviously like to just be leading at the half in all of their games. But at the very least, the Vikings proved on Sunday that they should never be counted out of a matchup this year until the final whistle sounds.
