Cook is the ultimate offensive weapon

For the first time since he was drafted in 2017, the Vikings are finally getting their first full dose of Dalvin Cook this season and it’s been a very exciting ride.

Every time Cook gets his hands on the football this year, it feels like he’s got the chance to do something special. There have been numerous moments this season where it seems like the young running back is about to be stopped for a loss and then he is able to just fight his way to an impressive gain instead.

During Minnesota’s most recent game against the Denver Broncos, Cook added enough rushing yards to his 2019 total to pass the 1,000-yard mark for the first time in his career. He is the first Vikings running back to gain at least 1,000 rushing yards in a season since Adrian Peterson in 2015 and it doesn’t seem like this will be a one-time occurrence for Cook during his career.

At his current pace, the Minnesota running back is set to finish this year with 2,141 total yards (1,479 rushing, 662 receiving), 65 catches, and 16 touchdowns. If Cook is actually able to end with over 2,000 total yards, he would join Peterson as the only two players in Vikings history to gain more than 2,000 total yards in a single season.

Minnesota’s opponents have struggled to contain the young running back this year and his presence on the team has made the offense extremely dynamic and difficult to predict. If the Vikings are going to win the Super Bowl this year, Cook is going to likely be a gigantic reason why.
