Paulson Adebo – CB (Stanford)

vs. California

  • When: Saturday, November 23 at 4:00 p.m. ET
  • Where: Stanford Stadium in Stanford, CA
  • TV: PAC12 Network

I absolutely love Paulson Adebo. Even if the Vikings were set for the future at cornerback, I would still want them to target Adebo in the first round.

Stanford is having a down season, but they have one of the best defensive backs in the country nonetheless.

His extraordinary ball skills make him almost impossible to throw against. He led the nation with 17 pass breakups in 2018 while adding four interceptions. So far in 2019, Adebo has 10 pass breakups and four interceptions.

Listed at 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, Adebo has a lot of length and enough size to press the line. He jumps routes well and limits big plays down the field.

Adebo is a great athlete with a lot of traits to succeed. However, he does not have elite play speed. He plays with enough quickness on the outside to dominate, but it will be curious to watch him against a true speedster in the NFL.

He can probably survive with just his length and instincts, but it would be nice to see him add some speed at the next level.

It is no secret by now that Vikings fans are done with Xavier Rhodes. He has fallen off a cliff in 2019 and he looks to be on his way out of town after this season.

With Trae Waynes not being under contract after this year either, Minnesota may look for a cornerback in the first round once again in 2020 and Adebo has my vote.
