Green Bay Packers (8-3) at New York Giants (2-9)

Time: 12 p.m. CT, Sunday
LinePackers by 6.5 points
Playoff Seeding: Packers 3rd (1st in NFC North), Giants 13th

The most obvious game for Vikings fans to keep an eye on this week will be in New York as the Packers try to take advantage of their easy remaining schedule that begins with a matchup against the Giants.

Things haven’t gone well for old friend Pat Shurmur in New York and this year has been no exception. Although the Giants may have a future franchise quarterback in Daniel Jones, it’s been the high ankle sprain by Saquon Barkley that has really torpedoed the Giants’ hopes of competing this season.

Fortunately, this could be a spot where Barkley can get right. The Packers own the 25th ranked run defense this season and their 4.8 yards per carry allowed on the ground is the fifth-highest in the NFL entering Sunday.

But where the Giants really struggle is on the defensive side of the ball. Aaron Rodgers had a rough night in San Francisco last week, but this should be a spot where he can carve up the 26th-ranked defense through a big game for Davante Adams.

With running backs Aaron Jones and Jonathan Williams continuing to dominate on the ground, this should be a spot where the Packers could put the pressure on Minnesota to win on Monday night in Seattle. However, the Vikings will need Green Bay to stumble somewhere and a trip to New York might be a tricky spot that can get it done.
