Re-signing Harris needs to be a priority in the offseason

In the sport of football, there are just some guys on the defensive side of the ball who always seem to come up with big-time plays. There are a bunch of behind-the-scenes reasons to help explain these happenings, but certain defenders just end up with their hands on the football more often than not.

Vikings safety Anthony Harris is one of these defenders. Harris has taken full advantage of his role on the starting defense this season and he’s proving to be one of the best in the NFL at his position.

The Minnesota safety came up with an incredibly impressive play in Seattle on Monday when he snatched a deflected pass out of the air in the second quarter and returned it 20 yards the other way for a touchdown.

It was Harris’ fourth interception and fifth takeaway this season. The 28-year-old safety is a free agent next year and plays like the one he made on Monday night are exactly why the Vikings need to make sure they re-sign him.
