Minnesota’s season is far from over

Monday’s loss will be tough to swallow for the Vikings, especially since they were close to making another impressive comeback. However, they also know that they still have four more very winnable games left on their schedule to improve their seeding before the playoffs.

The loss in Seattle does put Minnesota one game behind the Packers for first in the NFC North. But the Vikings will face Green Bay in Week 16 and that will likely be that matchup that decides who wins the division this season.

Believe it or not, Minnesota even still has a shot at earning a first-round bye in the playoffs this year. The chance is smaller now after Monday’s loss, but it still exists (just think of Lloyd Christmas from “Dumb and Dumber”).

Helping the Vikings out during the final quarter of the season is the fact that three of their final four games will take place inside U.S. Bank Stadium. Minnesota hasn’t lost a contest on their home field yet this year and there’s a good chance they won’t for the rest of 2019.

So would a win in Seattle have been great for the Vikings and their championship goals this season? Of course, but the fight Minnesota displayed out on the field on Monday and what they’ve already shown this year should still have people believing they have what it takes to finish on top of the NFL mountain this season.
