Cousins continues to impress

Even in a loss, Kirk Cousins continued to play at an MVP level. Cousins did throw an interception against the Seahawks, but it was from a pass that bounced off of Stefon Diggs’ hands. There was also pass interference on that play that wasn’t called, but that is beside the point right now.

Cousins continues to put this team on his back and Minnesota’s offense has clearly surpassed the defense as the strength of the team.

Cousins’ performance against Seattle is even more impressive when you factor in what he was missing. Left tackle Riley Reiff was out for half the game as was running back Dalvin Cook. Adam Thielen didn’t suit up either and he’s been Cousins go-to target since he began wearing a purple jersey last season.

Cousins was throwing to guys like Laquon Treadwell and handing off to a rookie running back, yet he was still able to will Minnesota back in the game and nearly pull off the win.

It was disheartening after the game to see all the talk on ESPN be about how Cousins has an 0-8 record on “Monday Night Football”.

He did everything in his power to get the Vikings the win in Seattle. The blame for Minnesota’s loss is definitely not on the quarterback and the blame should mostly be on the defense. If anyone else was playing quarterback for the Vikings on Monday night, except maybe Lamar Jackson, the team would’ve lost by three scores.

Cousins is Minnesota’s franchise quarterback and he has emerged as the leader of this team. Monday night’s performance in Seattle just solidified this even further.
