It is clear the Pat Elflein is not working at left guard for the Vikings. Minnesota has seen improvement on the offensive line this season, but Elflein seems to be a pretty apparent weak spot.

The 2020 draft pool has some talent the Vikings could consider at the position and Shane Lemieux may be the best option. I have Lemieux as my top-ranked guard in college football due to his sheer power up front and his ability to get to the second level.

On Friday night, Lemieux will line up across from a hungry Utah defense on the fringe of a playoff spot. The Utes have held six opponents to single-digit points and they have pitched two shutouts this season.

The Oregon Ducks have struggled lately and they need a statement win to cap off their season. They have one of the strongest offensive lines in the country, led by Lemieux up the gut. His power and understanding of the offense make him a key part of the gameplan.

In a league where interior offensive linemen are becoming more and more important, Lemieux looks to be among the next crop of great young options. If he can slow down Utah’s defensive line and help pull off a minor upset for the Ducks, Lemieux should get some considerable recognition.
