Denzel Mims – WR (Baylor)

  • TV: ABC

The more I watch the Vikings, the more evident it is that they need a wide receiver. Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs are a great duo when healthy, but there is not much talent behind them. Baylor’s Denzel Mims would be a great addition to the roster in 2020.

Mims recently accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl in January and he has a chance to set himself apart for the draft. The 2020 NFL Draft is expected to have a considerable amount of talent at the position, but Mims may be the biggest sleeper in the group.

The 6-foot-3 receiver has an enormous catch radius. His ability to climb the ladder and win over defenders stands out on film. Mix in his incredible concentration and you have a dominant outside receiver.

Mims is most likely going to come off the board on Day 2 of the draft and for good reason. His ceiling is sky-high and his potential in an open offense is worth an early selection. Adding him to a passing attack with Diggs and Thielen would give Mims a ton of opportunities to thrive as defenses are focused on the other two.

The biggest knock on Mims is his lack of elite speed down the field. While he can create after the catch, he will not take the top off of opposing defenses.

I am really excited to see Denzel Mims at the next level.
