Seattle Seahawks (10-2) at Los Angeles Rams (7-5)
Time: 7:20 p.m. CT, Sunday
Line: Pick ‘Em
Playoff Position: Seattle – 2nd, Rams – 7th
The Rams and Seahawks are in two different situations, but both teams are in desperate need of a win. After defeating the Vikings on Monday, Seattle took control of the NFC West but will be looking to put some distance between themselves and the 49ers despite already owning the head-to-head tiebreaker.
Meanwhile, Los Angeles thankful they were able to beat the Chicago Bears in Week 11, who looked great against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night. That has put the Rams as the biggest threat to Minnesota’s playoff spot at the moment as they sit one game back of the sixth seed in the NFC.
Los Angeles’ defense came to life against a lifeless Arizona Cardinals team last week, but they will have a taller task in trying to contain Russell Wilson. The Seahawks were able to hang 37 points on the Vikings last Monday, but a lot of that was Seattle just cashing in on their opportunities and relying on a ground game that churned out 218 yards.
That won’t be so easy against the Rams, who have allowed just 3.7 yards per carry this season. Although the Seahawks edged Los Angeles in a Week 5 meeting thanks to four touchdowns from Wilson, the Rams seem to be re-focused and with another home win, they could be on the heels of Minnesota down the stretch.
